Background
“Stronger Than Pride” is one of my favorite albums by iconic singer/band, Sade.  It is an ultra-smooth fusion of soul, funk and world music that explores romantic experiences.

Brief
The task was to recreate an album cover, implementing something handmade into the design.  

Solution
I thought rocks were a great raw material that can be used to express the different facets of love. The arrangement of these rocks would show love as a balancing act and simultaneously portray the stubbornness of pride.  The background will bring the smooth, romantic, passionate and “airy” vibe that Sade is known for.  I arranged and hand-painted the rocks to portray the theme of the album’s lead single, “Love is Stronger Than Pride”.
